I think this show is amazing. The story is really clear and I love the way the performers bring their different characters to life - I particularly like the politician's wife who's a real nasty piece of work! The songs and the music are so evocative. It's a bittersweet comedy, but quite dark - some bits are laugh out loud and others more thought provoking. The movement and dance in it helps to tell the story and kind of describes the relationships and emotions between the characters without them needing words. I can't wait to see it again!

That was really moving. I loved the songs! It was great to see such multi talented performers - the movement and the acting was really good. It reminded me of the Lars von Trier's film Dancer in the Dark - that kind of colourful, warm simplicity with a dark and emotional conclusion. Brilliant!

Every now and again a dance company comes along with the show that simply doesn't want to be pigeonholed. Yes, this production by the Irish company Fabulous Beast features some breathtaking dances, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. I know these immortal words are said far too often, but I speak the truth when I say "THIS IS MORE THAN JUST DANCE".

James Son of James features 14 performers in a night of dance, song, live music, clowning and performance. The cast effortlessly drifted between all artforms to tell this exceptional story of the rise and fall of an ordinary man.

Despite the multi-skilled cast, there is no doubting that Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre are truly earn their salt when they are doing what they do best - dancing. They are in their element with a collection of duets between key characters, each drawing on different influences or styles. They seem to express more about the relationship between the two dancers in a series of movements than many productions
